  DO NOT EXPECT YOUR DEPOSIT BACK NO MATTER HOW IMMACULATE YOU KEEP THE HOME. My family and I lived in a rental property managed by The Nordstrom Group for 5 years. They are great while you are renting with them, if issues arise they are quick to get them taken care of BUT they are awful once it's time to move. I was given a 30 day notice that the house would be put up for sale and we had to move. That in it self is frustrating but at the time I had just had twins who were living in the NICU so it couldn't have come at a worse time. They could not have been less empathetic to our situation. So we did what we had to do and scrambled to move out in time. We kept that place in great condition we repainted the house interior every year, and had the carpets professionally cleaned every 6 months or so (and freshly done for the move), we reported every issue we ever had with the house and got things promptly taken care of. We cleaned the house very well when we moved out with the exception of the oven and a couple of tiny crumbs left in a kitchen drawer and on the floor in front of it because my toddler was eating as I was waiting for Vanessa to arrive for inspection. I figured it wasn't a big deal and they could take it out of our nearly TWO THOUSAND DOLLAR deposit. I was wrong. Vanessa came to inspect and said they would need to have a cleaning service go in and re clean the entire house because of the crumbs left. She was extremely rude and passive aggressive with comments like "I understand your babies are in the hospital but this place is unacceptable, it truly is filthy your husband should have hired a professional cleaner if you couldn't get it done." When it came time for the deposit not only did they refuse to give it back but they tried to charge me $500 more for 2 air filters to be replaced when I just replaced them 3 months prior! So I asked for them to compare the home to when I was given the keys at move in. I wrote down every issue with the home how the walls were filthy, how they left ice in the sink and a full plate of food in the microwave, and crumbs and stains everywhere on the tile along with tons of pet hair but they refused to do a comparison. Funny thing is in their listing of the home they mentioned how well maintained the home was kept and how move in ready it was using the photos they took during inspection. The Nordstrom Group is not a place I'd recommend to anyone they scam you out of your money for the simple reason that they can get away with it. It's a moral-less company with zero integrity.
